A Swedish couple recently moved to their second home in Spain. They wanted a kitchen that conveyed calm, sobriety, and functionality, in keeping with the serene aesthetic of the rest of the home.
Needs and objectives
- Create a warm, clean and minimalist environment.
- Use durable, visually smooth, and easy-to-maintain materials.
- Design a kitchen that opens into the living room, allowing for visual connection and fluidity.
- Avoid superfluous elements: less is more, if everything is well thought out.
What we did
- We install kitchen fronts made of treated natural wood, without visible handles, for a uniform and continuous aesthetic.
- We incorporated a white, solid surface countertop, which provides brightness and durability.
- A column area was designed to integrate the oven, microwave, and refrigerator, leaving the surfaces clear.
- We added a central island with an integrated wine cellar and extra counter space.
- We optimized the layout to maximize the entry of natural light and maintain the connection with the living area.
Style and materials
- Style: warm modern with Nordic inspiration.
- Wood: natural tones for a cozy effect without being overwhelming.
- Countertop: off-white, seamless and easy-to-clean surface.
- Accessories: matte gold faucets, integrated handles and high-end hardware.
