In a home near Puerto Banús, a British family entrusted us with the renovation of the most lived-in room in their vacation home: the kitchen. They wanted a space where their children and grandchildren could cook, eat, and enjoy together, with the warmth of a family atmosphere and the comfort of a design designed for sharing.
The problem: integrating without losing harmony
The original kitchen, closed and impractical, didn't invite conviviality or integration with the living room. The biggest challenge was opening it up to the rest of the home without making it look like a forced renovation. We were looking for a balance between aesthetics and functionality that would feel natural, as if the new kitchen had always been there.
The solution: elegant and functional design
To achieve this, the design team opted for lacquered fronts in a soft beige tone, in harmony with the original flooring. The result provides visual continuity and a serene atmosphere.
The countertop was made in LG HI-MACS solid surface, a highly resistant material that allows for seamless sink integration, offering a clean and sophisticated finish.
Details designed for everyday life
Considering the age of the owners, both in their eighties, we incorporated ergonomic and practical improvements:
Interior drawers in low areas to avoid bending over.
Round lighting instead of linear, for aesthetic preference.
In-sink disposal to simplify waste management.
Small gestures that make a big difference in everyday life.
A shared experience
The process was also a shared experience. The clients were very clear about their needs, but they also trusted our suggestions. This collaboration allowed us to work with freedom and precision, achieving a result that speaks for itself: a renovated, comfortable, and open kitchen that feels like a natural part of the home.
