Warm, bright and functional kitchen next to the golf course
Project presentation
In a Swedish-inspired villa located near the Marbella golf course, the owners sought to transform their second home in Spain into a space that conveyed calm, order, and comfort. The kitchen, one of the home's key spaces, needed to reflect that sense of Nordic serenity, but also offer the functionality and character required for a home designed for family vacations and weekend getaways.
The problem
The original space lacked identity and didn't fit in with the style of the home. Although it was a good size, it felt dull and unused, lacking sufficient light or aesthetic coherence. The challenge was to design a bright, practical, and inviting kitchen that would fit in with the architecture of the house while also meeting the real needs of its owners.
The solution
Our brief was clear: create an open, warm, and minimalist kitchen, using natural materials and an optimized layout that maximized light and comfort. The design had to be understated yet inviting, designed to stand the test of time in both functionality and style.
Design highlights
- Kitchen fronts in textured natural wood, with visible handles, to provide authenticity and a warm, timeless aesthetic.
- Tall doors in smooth white finish, which add luminosity and reinforce the feeling of spaciousness.
- Porcelain countertop with soft veins, durable and easy to maintain, providing elegance without being too strident.
- Custom storage blocks, which integrate oven, microwave and refrigerator into a single harmonious unit.
- Central island with built-in wine cellar, practical for meetings and perfect for strengthening the connection with the room.
- Studied lighting in the ceiling and furniture, which provides warmth and makes daily tasks easier.
A kitchen that reflects the lives of its owners
The result was an open, functional, and welcoming space, capable of conveying the serenity characteristic of Nordic design but adapted to the Mediterranean style. A kitchen designed for everyday enjoyment, perfectly combining aesthetics and practicality.
The owners defined it as a place that “invites you to stay”, where every detail is designed to make life more comfortable without sacrificing style.
"This project perfectly encapsulates what we love to do: understanding the client, adapting to their lives, and designing with meaning. This wasn't about impressing, but about getting it right."
“It was a very rewarding kitchen to design. The clients were very receptive and trusted our recommendations. That makes everything flow.”
